DeVita Associates can help with all your shock and vibration abatement needs. In applications where computer systems may be exposed to high vibration or shock, such as moving vehicles (or earthquake zones), computers or entire racks can be ruggedized or modified to tolerate the vibration. Vibration and shock (shock can be viewed as a low frequency vibration with a high magnitude) create situations where systems and hardware may be more prone to damage, failure or excessive wear. To combat this effect Devita Associates systems can be designed and manufactured to reduce the effects of shock and vibration. Devita Associates employs two basic strategies for reducing these effects:

NSN 7022-21-920-4115 (Formerly NSN 7021-21-920-4115)One custom computer rack mount system of note produced by DeVita Associates is the Maintenance Aid Computer. These systems were built for the Canadian Forces. They are deployed on trucks and light vehicles . These systems feature steel cases with vibration mounting for components, locking removable drive bays, customized AMI BIOS default settings (to ensure correct BIOS settings even in the event of a motherboard battery failure or removal) and antitheft customizations for their flat screen monitors. Full units include a 1U rack mountable UPS. This project exemplified the skill and logistical support of DeVita Associates as all deliveries were on schedule. The performance of these system is documented in the NRC Task report Vibration Test for the Light System Repair Vehicle Development project DAVPM 6, DND File 31574, NRC# HV357 and the Environmental Testing (DND File # 31574, NRC# HV357) documenting performance of the whole system (including the vehicle) in various temperature conditions.
