High Performance Technical Clustering SolutionsBeowulf Project at CESDIS (Beowulf.org) - The original NASA project. Check here for white papers and many links to other Beowulf cluster projects and information. Check Mosix: a software package that enhance the Linux kernel with cluster computing capabilities. The enhanced Linux kernel allows any size cluster of X86/Pentium based workstations and servers to work cooperatively as if part of a single system. TurboLinux’s enFusion: turns your existing computer network into a high-speed, fault-tolerant, highly available supercomputer. Legion: Worldwide Virtual Computer: Legion is an object-based, meta-systems software project at the University of Virginia. Alinka Raisin: a management and configuration tool for beowulf-type Linux clusters for parallel computing. SGI - Software : Advanced Cluster Environment (ACE) for Linux: a fully tested and integrated cluster package for compute-intensive environments. VA Cluster Management (VACM): a client / server system allowing monitoring and management of a cluster of nodes equipped with Intel’s Intelligent Platform Management Interface. SCMS - Smile Cluster Management System: SCMS is an extensible management tool for beowulf cluster developed to simplify the management task for large beowulf cluster. SCMS provides a rich set of tools and support system that help system administrator monitor, submit command, query system status, maintain system configuration and more. SCMS GUI tool helps administrator of beowulf cluster to manage the cluster much easier. SCMS is released under Opensource license (BSD based). Available from the SMILE project of the Parallel Research Group of Kasetsart University. They have other related software, including the Diskless Cluster Suite, KCAP cluster management software and others. High Availability Load Balancing Clustering SolutionsMission Critical Linux Kimberlite Clustering Technology : A Kimberlite Cluster provides support for two server nodes connected to a shared SCSI or Fibre Channel storage subsystem, in an active-active failover environment. Mission Critical Linux’ Convolo Cluster software is a fully qualified, enterprise-ready, high-availability cluster product for Linux systems based on open source Kimberlite clustering technology. (Now available from DeVita Associates on the AMI Cluster Kit.) Ultra Monkey: A High Availability and Load Balancing Solution for Linux Linux Virtual Server: a highly scalable and highly available server built on a cluster of real servers, with the load balancer running on the Linux operating system. The architecture of the cluster is transparent to end users. End users only see a single virtual server. Red Hat’s Piranha Alinka Oranges: a software-based integrated clustering solution that takes care of all issues of highly available platforms. TurboLinux’s TurboCluster Server: an Enterprise-class clustering solution that allows for the construction of highly available and scalable networks based on low-cost commodity components. LifeKeeper for Linux from SteeleEye Technology Platform Computing's LSF Suite Resonate Dispatch series: software solutions to ensure high performance and availability of internet-based services and applications. Legato Systems: Legato Cluster for Linux The Global File System (GFS) is a shared disk cluster file system for Linux. GFS supports journaling and recovery from client failures. GFS cluster nodes physically share the same storage by means of Fibre Channel or shared SCSI devices. The file system appears to be local on each node and GFS synchronizes file access across the cluster. GFS is fully symmetric, that is, all nodes are equal and there is no server which may be a bottleneck or single point of failure. GFS uses read and write caching while maintaining full UNIX file system semantics. High Availability Load Balancing Clusters from Devita Associates
